Commonly Asked Questions:

What is an understudy?

An understudy is a member of the cast who, in addition to being in the chorus or playing another role, can also play one of the leading roles. Understudies learn the lines and songs of the lead actor. If a lead actor is missing from rehearsal or a performance or sick and unable to perform, the understudy will step into that role. They are an incredibly important part of a cast, especially in these days of quarantines and COVID!

Why is my name in more than one place?

Understudies are also important members of the chorus, offering their voice and talent in many places at once!

Where is my name?

If you auditioned and do not see your name listed anywhere, it is a mistake. We did not cut anyone from our show and you will be in the chorus. Ms. Evans and Ms. Collins apologize profusely for somehow missing you!

Are there any opportunities for me to say lines or sing solos or be a featured dancer if I’m in the chorus?

Definitely! There are many additional lines, singing solos, and dancing/tumbling features within many of the full chorus scenes and songs that are not assigned to any particular named character. We will fill these lines and solos in at rehearsal.

I have a friend who wanted to be in the show but missed auditions, can they still do it?

Yes! We have some spots available in the chorus. Have them come and talk to or email Ms Evans or Ms Collins!

Are you excited for the show to start?

ABSOLUTELY! We were blown away by the talent of everyone at auditions and we can’t wait to get started!
